Guest guest
I have had chronic pancreatitis for 11 years. I acquired this from a serious car accident. I am constantly looking for answers. I constantly ask my doctor what is new in this field. Is there anything out there that maybe I don't know about? It is a constant ongoing battle. I am sick of my family constantly asking me, why can't they do more? I don't know.....why can't they? I saw my doctor recently and went thru a lot of tests and found out I have GERD. And that it is possible after many years that my problem could be falling back on the pancreas. Is this possible? Why can't I get past this? And what lies ahead in my future as far as my health problems?
Guest guest
rah_russo, welcome to this group. If you're pancreas was damage due to a car accident, it may end up being chronic. Severe trauma can cause chronic pancreatitis. I'd stay away from alcohol of any sort and go on a extreme low fat diet. The problem with the pancreas is that the doctors just don't know that much about it. It's very variable in what problems it cause for each person with pancreatitis and there just hasn't been enough research done regarding pancreatitis. Chronic pancreatitis can cause GERD. there are several complications it can cause. I would look for a doctor that is not only a GI, but also specializes in pancreatic problems. But the answer may still be " they don't know " . I've done a lot of research in studies and papers on chronic pancreatitis and what is mention frequently is that the doctor just don't know enough about the pancreas. Kimber -- Kimber hominid2@...
