Guest guest
Try using a baby monitor in his room with the receiver in yours. I am absolutely sure you will hear him if he has a big seizure. It will save you some of the up and down at night. We are at the opposite end, with Claire (7) still sleeping in our bed. We are planning on moving her to her own room with a monitor. This is a tough habit to break so if wants to be independent, I would do everything possible to help him. Lois Sleeping concerns Hi everyone!! We're still waiting for an opening at the hospital for Jake to get started on the diet. We were really hoping for before school starts but doesn't look that way. had a 7 minute seizure on Thursday and had trouble breathing during the seizure so we called 911 and we took him into Children's Hospital in Boston. All they did was to check his levels with his meds and then send him home. We know he's having seizures while he sleeps but he insists on sleeping in his own bed. I'm scared to death to let him do that but he's almost 7 and is trying so hard to be a " big boy " . It feels like I " m up every 1/2 hour checking on him. He had 2 small seizures this afternoon while he took a nap but he got himself out of them within a minute or so. Am I being too paranoid? My husband seems to sleep through me getting up. He also seems to sleep through Jake waking up at night too. It's so hard because he has to be up to go to work in the morning and being military it's not like he can call in and say he's going to be late. I'm exhausted both physically and emotionally and we haven't even started the diet yet. Knowing that we're going to be starting the diet, can you give me some different reciep ideas to let Jake try so it's not such a shock for him? Any ideas will be appreciated!! ~Jake's mom~ waiting to start the diet " The Ketogenic Diet....a realistic treatment option, NOT just a last resort! " List is for parent to parent support only. Guest guest
, have you thought about a baby moniter for your sons room? Most of them are pretty cheap but if you really wanted you could go to one of the fancy video moniter ones. They even have them at your basic target store these days. I hope it gives you both the freedom to sleep. Ally Sleeping concerns > > Hi everyone!! > > We're still waiting for an opening at the hospital for Jake to get > started on the diet.
