Dear Group,

As an addendum to my earlier post, I'd like to thank Dr. Nase for his

wonderful book. The info on accutane and photoderm are incredibly

thorough and encouraging. It's a shame that so many US derms are so

woefully ignorant on the use of low-dose accutane to treat this terrible

disease; looks like derms in Europe are far more open-minded and

enlightened. Some of this research has been out since the 80's, yet most

derms still won't let us try this potent & potentially life-changing

drug.

Some good news to report: I found a derm in NJ who is open to trying

low-dose accutane after aggressive antibiotic therapy. She even is

willing to look at the literature I've collected.

Good luck to all,

Heidi

That's good news Heidi. Finding a derm who will work with you and

review the information you've collected so far has to be very

helpful. I'm lucky to have two like that. When I receive Dr. Nase's

book I'm going to let both of them have a look at it when I have my

next appointments. I see them pretty regularly. They both know how

hard cea is to treat. Low dose Accutane worked good for me when

I used it. I started more Photoderm treatments today so I had to

stop the Accutane around the first of the year. Congrats on finding

a Derm.
