Guest guest
Hello Please don't give up. Sometimes you can have some fit issues at first. Do you know how much experience your ortho has? Your son should get used to the band once he has a good fit, and then he will be back to normal. I'm glad you found us. You'll get tons of support here. Guest guest
We are here to support you. This is not your fault and right now your baby does have special needs that not all babies have. This is something that you are doing for his future not just for this moment. Fit issues can be so draining not only for baby but for the parents too. I hope these issues resolve quickly. There may be other reasons for the fussiness too. 6 months is a hard age with teething and vaccinations. You are doing a good thing for your child he may just not know it right now. Guest guest
ok i dont know if this works but i have had a few people tell me that they bought, a foam type mattress cover. kinda like an egg crate, but softer. They said they bought it at Target and they just had to cut it down to fit in the crib. I didn't have to use it for my son, but its worth a shot at making the bed sofer, with all the weight on there head. Yeah they dont weigh that much to us but there so much smaller. Don't be afraid to ask questions on here. We will all help you get through this. Believe me I was blamming myself when i first found out what had and how it happened, but we cant do that, because we will just drive ourselves NUTS!!!!!!!! Good Luck I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how things go. s Mommy DOC BAND #1 10-26-05 to 2-26-06 DOC Band #2 04-14-06 > > My son just got his STAR Band and oh my Lord. Guest guest
Please keep us posted. I know how you must feel. It took my son a week before he was sleeping through the night again. He did get up 5 times a night the first week with his star band. Take care. kathy --- Sandy <samipa74@...> wrote: > Hello > Please don't give up. Sometimes you can have some > fit issues at > first. Guest guest
I bought a 1 1/2 " thick memory foam twin mattress " pad " from Target. I cut it to fit the crib then cut pices for the wing and bouncy when Kiersten was 2 months old. Make sure you cover it with something waterproof. if it gets wet it gets nasty. I spoke with my dr about it and we agreed it would be ok for Kiersten. You may want to check with yours. It's out of her crib now, even though since she has graduated I'm thinking I need to put it back on. na, DOC Grad X2 Feb 04, Tort Resolved Kiersten, DOC Grad 4/4/06, Tort Resovled www.thefilyaws.com/plagio/plagio.html > > > > My son just got his STAR Band and oh my Lord. Guest guest
I'm having problems with the Star band also. My son woke up with his left eye swollen shut because the helmet was rubbing on it. I feel like it's all my fault since I'm the one who pushed for the helmet in the first place. My husband doesn't really think it's necessary. My son is adjusting well.. but the first night he wore it he was up every hour crying. Hang in there... I hope things are better this week. :)Cyndi, mom to Dylan Starband since 4/3/
Guest guest
Did you call the orthotist? What did they say? That sounds bad. It's not your fault. I think we get into this on the assumption that we will have a good fit. It is not supposed to come down like that. Let us know what the ortho says.
