Kinnikinnick Product Review

Just thought I'd mention that I finally tried the Kinnikinnick

chocolate K-toos (oreo like) cookies, the Vanilla donuts, and the

Montanas chocolate chip cookies.

Chocolate K-toos: I have never had (or at least don't remember having)

Oreo cookies, so I didn't have a basis for comparison. I was

surprised because I always thought the cookie part would be sweeter.

But, they were really addicting. I had to put them on top of the

refrigerator to stop eating them! lol. I didn't do the whole separate

the cookie thing 'cause i liked them all together. Very yummy! I saved

one for DH (it was a struggle) because I wanted his honest Oreo-cookie

eating opinion. He said they tasted very much like oreos, but the

filling was a little sweeter and " tasted like an oreo cookie that's

been sitting out for a few days " . Which, to be fair, they had been (in

a plastic bag) so I'm not sure if that demonstrates their difference

or not. I will ABSOLUTELY order these again. 9/10 (which is probably

the same rating I would give real Oreos if I could eat them)

Vanilla Donuts- I'm a big fan of Kinnikinnick donuts, although I like

them at room temperature and not heated (heated I think the topping

loses its flavor). I thaw them and then eat them, usually a half at a

time. I like vanilla as a flavor, but this white vanilla topping

tasted more like generic white shortening sugar flavor than anything

else. I didn't really like it. I'll stick with maple and chocolate,

thank you! 4/10

Montanas Chocolate Chip Cookies- I love chocolate chip cookies, and

usually make them myself following the toll house cookie recipe with

Bette Hagman's GF Blend, which DH also loves. I am also a cookie snob-

i would as soon eat sweetened shoe leather as eat Ener-g foods

cookies, for example, and I do not deign to eat Pamela's 5 billion

calorie a serving blah cookies (though her double chocolate chip is

ok). However, this cookie tasted the most like my homemade cookies

that I have ever had. I heard that they tasted like " chips ahoy " and

asked DH what he thought. He first said, " Chips Ahoy? They're not so

special. " (not realizing that approximating gluten products is often

the holy grail for us) After tasting, he said, " yup, tastes like Chips

Ahoy, it's good! " 7/10 only because packaged cookies are never as good

as cookies straight out of the oven. But, if I could only eat packaged

cookies, I would totally stock up on these, and will probably include

at least one package in my K orders in the future.
