Sharon, I am so sorry you had to quit your job last May. It is so much

easier if one can keep their employment even when sick. I worked for many

years with lupus, I finally gave up about a year and a half ago. I also miss

my work a lot. I worked for the hotel and travel industry, many years for 5

star deluxe hotels. I got to travel at least 4 times a year to beautiful

places around the world.

I got SSD on my first try. I have kidney involvement and some neurological

" signs " of involvement as well. I don't know if that's what made the case or

the fact that I am on chemotherapy, or the fact that I have had Lupus for 17

years now and worked through most of the time. I tried without a lawyer and

told myself I will get one if they deny my first claim.

You do not mention whether you have a lawyer or not, but I would suggest

getting a lawyer to represent you. I don't know if it is too late at this

point to get one so you would have to find out. Also, it is my understanding

that most cases that go before the judge are approved.

I'm sure you'll hear from other members on what their experience is with

SSD. Just please do not give up.
