Guest guest
Okay, so I wanted to share.. my ds has been going through testing. First, there was a peptide test -the results were that his gliadorphins were 4 times the normal level. Next step - Celiac test. IgG 71 (after being GF for 3 weeks already) IgA less than 3 Next - IgA count... 73 - at best a " very low 'normal' " . While the docs here keep saying - it's possible, but inconclusive, my DAN doctor called for a conference and said, Yes, it's celiac. I'm so relieved because I keep getting the barage of " stupid questions " from well meaning relatives. 1. Will he outgrow it? (don't you LOVE that one?) 2. What about... cookies, bread, etc.. 3. How do you order in a resturant? 4. What CAN he eat? (answer: real food-veggies, meat, fruit-low salicylate, corn, rice, potatoes, beans...) Just venting a bit. My dear son is only 4, so catching this now is truly a blessing! Now... for the rest of us to get tested! Charly in Texas
Guest guest
Congratulations, Charly! The ignorance will always be out there, but I am glad that now your son can live a healthy life! -----Original Message-----From: SillyYaks [mailto:SillyYaks ] On Behalf Of charlyhomeschoolSent: August 1, 2006 10:47 AMTo: SillyYaks Subject: Yay, a diagnosis! Guest guest
The heat must be bringing them out. The manager at the local Italian restaurant catering an upcoming function assured me that my husband could have the pasta because they were egg noodles and not wheat noodles. > > > > > > Okay, so I wanted to share.. my ds has been going through > testing. > > > First, there was a peptide test -the results were that his > > > gliadorphins were 4 times the normal level. > > > Next step - Celiac test.
