Hi Bobbi,

Some people can see it and some can't! The same held true for my baby.

Not everyone saw her plagio and ear and eye asy. I had not one, but 2

pediatriac neurosurgeons tell me my baby's head was fine. One told me

her head was perfect, it was far from perfect. The other one told me

she did have moderate plagio w/facial and ear asy. but a band wouldn't

help her!

I do see the improvement, she's looking good. For me I wanted as close

to 100% correction as we could get for my dd. She ended up receiving

over 90+% correction. Her eyes are no long asymmetrical and her ears

are aligned. It took us a long time to get there, she wasn't banded

until she was almost 11.5 months old. Your cranial doc is correct,

those numbers aren't accurate. Most work w/plagio babies is done by

eye. Numbers don't mean anything to me either. I don't care what the

numbers say, if I can still see a baby's asy. I'm sure they'll be able

to see it when they're older and look in the mirror.

That's one of the reasons I kept banded for so long. I didn't

want her to ever look in the mirror as a teenager and see how asy. her

face was.

I wonder why she was put into the bivalve and not a regular STARband.

Did your ortho say?

Bobbi, you don't have anything to lose by keeping her in her band.

She's still young enough to receive more correction. You know? Stop

looking at her head and face for a week or so. After that hold her up

to a mirror and see if you see the asy. It seems to me that her right

eye is a little bit bigger than her left and her right cheek is a

little bit fuller than her left. I don't know about her ears, I can't

see them. I wouldn't let your ortho graduate her at this point, no

matter what the numbers say.
