Hi Dawn,

I am new, too. We have three sons - the first of which had a

perfect, round head. Our second son had a very flat head that bulged

out in the front. His was determined (via CT scan) to be a result of

a malformed C1 vertebrae and he was placed in a Philadephia collar

(neck brace) to correct the situation. However, positioning him

helped A LOT. We used a pillowcase and stuffed two rolls of batting

(we rolled them up to the correct thickness, then cut them to fit in

the pillowcase) along each end - wedging him in the middle, on his

side. He accepted his new sleeping position readily (he was 3 months

old at the time) and it really, really worked.

However, our third son also has a very flat head, and we were not

able to correct his through positioning. He is just too wild to

accept laying on his side with the contraption we made for our second

son. He is starting in his STARband this week - and he is almost 8

months old. I would have loved to have started it sooner, but we

thought we'd give the positioning a try. It didn't work for him, but

it worked great for his brother!
