Guest guest
Welcome and Allan. I realized after reading your post that I never introduced myself. My daughter , who just turned 20, started the keto diet at 11. She had uncontrolled seizures since the age of 12 weeks, and developed Lennox Gaustaut syndrome (A mix of many seizure types and a specific EEG pattern and cognitive deficits.) She had great success with the diet and after 3 years we finally weaned her off all meds (phenobarb, tegretol and dilantin) which never really worked anyway. She had significant behavioral issues and the diet helped with that too. She is still on Atkins, mostly because I am afraid to give her regular food, for fear the seizures will reappear. With the Atkins craze it's easy to find foods, so we just hang in there. The keto meal planner that is distributed by many hospitals, like Stanford, was developed by a friend of mine (a dad) for his wife. I do coach parents on meal planning and am happy to offer any assistance to those who would like it. That's my story.
