Guest guest
Hi all, I've been in the hospital again-- I started running a low grade fever and becoming increasing short of breath. I was scared I had thrown another clot- as was my doctor. Thankfully (?) though I had not. I did however have a large pleural effusion and a moderate pericardial effusion. It seems it is called Dresslers syndrome and can develop after an MI or open heart surgery. I read somewhere it was like 4 out of 100,000 chance of this happening but it happened to me. It is an autoimmune response. They tapped my pleural effusion and started me on Motrin three times a day. My other option was prednisone, it would work quicker but I reminded him it also has aggrevated my CP when I have had to take it for my asthma. I still have the effsuions but they are better and I can talk and breath at the same time now. My pulmonary doc likes to give me grief because I usually give it back and he asked me if I was trying to kill him with all my problems and complications. I told him I was just trying to keep him on his toes and keep life interesting. I told him however I would try not to turn blue any longer-- its not my color. Sorry, if I can't laugh at myself sometimes I would cry and go bald from pulling my hair out. Just wanted to update and let you know why I haven't been around. Thanks for the laugh! :-)) I'm glad you are so upbeat after yet another chapter to add to your saga. Take care, it's good to see you back. Guest guest
, Glad you are doing better. I know how that is. Just got out of the hospital myself and the doc says I can't go back to work for three weeks and that is only if the situation is straight then. So I am taking it easy and just trying to rest. I feel so worned out that I don't know what to do for one minute to the next but am glad that you are doing better.
