Guest guest
matthew is nearly 10 now (his birthday is next week!!!) and he has been on the diet for just over 2 years now. The diet has been the only thing that has been successful for - he is med free now and his life has been so much better since on the diet. His seizures saw an over 85% reduction. had very severe epilepsy before the diet and has suffered brain damage as a result of the epilepsy, so he has the mind of about a 15 month old baby (only without as much speech - that is getting better with the diet though - albeit slowly!). I would definitely recommend giving the diet a try - you have nothing to lose and everything to possibly gain. Good luck. Emma - Mum to . > > > Have to chime in here. Unhealthy? Hmmm. Guest guest
Emma, Thanks for giving me your input. It helps me with my decision. n is 2.7 years old and was a 26 week preemie who suffered a IVH (stroke). He started with infantile spasms at 8 months of age and was treated with ACTH which resolved it until 12 months old. He has been having seizures off and on since but since March 2004 he started having them every 7 to 10 days and in the last 3 weeks every 3 to 6 days. We've tried topamax triliptal keppra and now zonagram. Currently he takes triliptal and zonagram. He is very delayed just starting to crawl and be vocal. He has CVI and isn't a great eater. I have to say though he has made pretty good gains with in the last 4 months. I just get so worried because he can't afford to lose anymore ground developmentally. I so much want him to continue in the right direction. Again, thanks for your input.
