Hi Kim, Generally a good big grocery store, in the veggie section, but yes

it's a low volume item and could easily be hidden or in a small place.

If you happen to be in an area where it's not available, then think about

getting some " candied ginger' " this is just ginger root coated with sugar,

it's usually in the 'spice " rack. If you need to get to an Oriental market to

get some (either fresh ginger or candied ginger) that type of store would

always have it. I know there is " powdered ginger' in the spice rack but I

have never tried to use it to dispel nausea, so I don't know if it would work.

BTW fresh ginger will last easily two months in the fridge

Best wishes - Poncho - GA

Louie,

Thank for the kind words. My worst acute attack that started all

this was over 10 months ago, so actually I'm doing pretty well

right now....just trying to take it easy. You can thank Poncho for

that initial ginger root idea, I think. He mentioned it to me

sometime last summer, and I tried it then and it worked great,

and I've been telling anybody that would listen since then that it

works! I'm glad to know it's working for you.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi in SC

Louie,

really glad you got something that helps with your nausea. I

have

an aromatherapy mixture to sniff (almond oil, orange oil,

lavendar and spearmint mix) and it actually helps. Surprised

me the first time I tried it (it was a free trial) and the

bottle only cost $5.00, I've had if for 6 months and used

less than half the bottle. I also use it in conjuction with

the nausea meds so I don't get nausea while waiting for them

to take effect, but it sometimes works even when the meds

wont. Only problem is I look funny with a kleenex stuffed to

my nose all the time.

Kimber,

Thanks for the suggestion. I would like to try it, but where do you buy the

oils?

Hi again Jill,

Just an FYI, for fresh ginger root, you are looking for a very light tan

tuber that is generally between 2 and 5 inches long and about 3/4 inch in

diameter. Many times it is branched and two or three tubers are attached to

each other at a common joint.

Look for a clean, dry, solid piece. In using the ginger, just slice a piece

across the lengthwise direction of the root about the thickness of a nickel

and put it between your cheek and gum. Sometimes it can be a little spicy and

" hot " and if it is just remove it for a while then replace it in a few

minutes.

Hope you find it easily, best wishes, Poncho - GA

I bought them from someone I met at a convention. She's a

registered aromatherapist. Here's her info as she does mail

orders:

Al'e

16214 36th Ave W, Suite 114

Lynnwood, WA 98037

She has bottles for $5, $10 & $15. I bought the smallest

one. It's the one for morning sickness. she also has another

one for nausea, but it didn't work as well as the other one

does for me.
