Guest guest
I have been a member of the sight for 3/4 months now. I am contemplating getting laser done. I have read the differences in the VBEAM and photoderm machine, but am still confused. I believe the main difference was the wave and duration of the light. The photoderm is able to do a whole area (longer light pulses), where other lasers spot treat and can leave purple spots. Others rosaceans have complained of the purple marks with Vbeam, others have said to make sure the doctor does not spot treat, otherwise you will be left with white spots and red spots. I have been calling around to see what doctors offer the procedures in my area. At first my derm said he did not do the procedure for the whole face, he just does the YAG, Erbium, Ruby lasers, for dark birthmarks, scars, etc. NOW, 3 months later, after I have told him about looking into the photoderm, he says he does treat rosacea symptoms with his lasers, however I will have papura (purple/black) spots all over my cheeks and chin (where I am redest) for about 2/3 weeks. How can I go to work with purple spots....and what about those of you who have complained about having white spots and red spots where the doctor missed? OK, so do I go to the doctors that I have found that use the photoderm machine? I have found one that says no down time, can go right back to work, main side effect is just more redness. Another photofacial doc said I may have some papura (purple dots). I am confused once again. I do know that walking around with spots for 3 weeks would not work for me. I am already out of work every 2 weeks for the dermatologist. Is anyone else confused? Can anyone shed some light, give me some advice.. something. Oh, and one place said their aestician does the treatments. This is my face and need some definites. The doctors aren't helping me understand. Thanks everyone. Guest guest
I had 5 treatments of photoderm and found that it reduced redness significantly and drastically reduced my odds of flaring. I can still get bumps, but it's due to the flaring -- which is rare for me now. I, too, was worried about going to work and found that photoderm did not preempt any part of my lifestyle. I had photoderm late in the afternoon and would go to work the next day and no one would notice. Didn't leave purple marks or red / white patches. I did get some tiny, tiny brown marks near my temples that went away after a few days (I think this was due to the thin skin in that portion of my face). You're right in saying that photoderm treats a larger section of the face than the Vbeam. Anyway, if you get the right practitioner, I don't think you should worry. Make sure you get recommendations from other patients. I'm in Seattle and traveled all the way to Portland because my practitioner was recommended by many people. His name is Dr. Jerry Darm and his phone # is . > I have been a member of the sight for 3/4 months now. I am > contemplating getting laser done.
