Guest guest
Daphne's GI doctor recommended giving her 1 tablespoon of Milk of Magnesia day and night for managing her constipation. I was already giving her 250mg magnesia supplement at night, and was wondering if I needed to cut down the dose. Does Milk of Magnesia have the same nutritional value as the magnesia that you supplement? Is there any harm in giving both? Also, even though Daphne doesn't stool regularly, when she does stool it is usually loose -- been that way ever since she was born -- (sorry for the lurid details). Her regular pediatrician told me before to not give her milk of magnesium, even though she's constipated, because of the loose stools. Does anybody know if there's a problem with giving magnesium when stools are loose? Thanks, (mom to Daphne, 10 months old with Infantile Spasms, ketobaby since 6/22)
Guest guest
My neuro tells me not to us MOM, but to use Mineral Oil. We have been using Mineral Oil on our two year old for over a year now as needed to help her poop. You can find it at most grocery stores.
