That would certainly solve some of our " listening " problems between the two kids. Debbie D Debbie, Ian bought it at Radio Shack and I think it is a rather inexpensive purchase. The cords are not long, the whole thing is maybe 6 inches from one end to the other. It plugs into the device and then the kids' headphone (or neckloop) plugs into it. Go into Radio Shack (or any place like that, Best Buy, Circuit City) and ask for help, Im sure they can help you find one. Guest guest
Radioshack has another cool thing. It is headphones with a volume control in the cord. This way Maggie and someone else can both plug into her portable DVD player and only Maggie has the volume cranked into her ears! I sure wish they made a microlink type system at Radio Shack - it would probably cost 1/20th of what Phonak charges! We have a splitter cord too. Guest guest
Our kids all have headphones with individual inline volume control for sharing the DVD player on long car trips. The headphones don't turn the volume up, because it has no power to add. It turns the volume down, so the DVD volume is set to the person's preferences with the greatest hearing loss, and everyone else turns it down to their comfort. A 2 way splitter will work, but most devices do not deliver enough power to the headphones to split it 3 ways, especially if someone needs more volume than normal. If you need to split 3 ways, buy the 3 way splitter with amplifier instead of the standard 3 way splitter from Rat Scrap. It takes 2 AA batteries, which add power for enough increased volume for 3 listeners.
