Guest guest
You asked how long I've taken Pilates. It's been over a year now. Although I really like it (my family Dr told me to take weight bearing exercises because of Osteopena) it's a killer 'cuz I still can't get my butt off the mat. But I hang in there anyway and now can actually feel some abs somewhere deep inside my jelly belly. I noticed last fall that I was feeling a bit wobbly in the legs during class which was something new. Didn't know why but thought it was a passing thing. Now I know it was the first signs of Lupus other than the pink cheeks which I'd had for several months. I went to class today and now (late afternoon) I'm feeling the effects but mostly just fatigue. No major leg aches or joint pains. At least not yet. The reason I asked the question about how far people push themselves exercise-wise was although I realize it's a personal choice, I don't want to do damage and just wondered what others do. Common sense says you do what you can do until you can't do it so maybe I answered my own question. Still, I'm interested in how other people deal with doing strenuous activities. Thanks for asking.
