My poor little Kristan has pneumonia again! This is the third time

in a year she has had pneumonia and ear infection. She's on

antibiotics again and is actually doing better this time around than

the last time she had pneumonia. She has her appetite back and is

taking her bottle again and is playful too.

She caught a cold on Wed. and I took her the next day to the doctor

who said it wasn't bad, but said bring her back the next day and then

that night she had trouble breathing and her chest sounded crackly,

so I used the ventolin inhaler which improved her breathing and once

we are at the doctors she confirmed it was pneumonia again. I almost

broke down at her office, three times in a year, what am I doing

wrong? She reminded me that Kristan didn't have pneumonia the day

before she saw her and that it wasn't anything I did, her cold just

got worse.

The only thing different this time around is that we are noticing

smiling/laughing type of seizures when she is awake. They last a few

seconds. Any thoughts on why she is having these types of seizures?

Dearest Satnam,

Sorry to hear of Kristan's pneumonia. I do hope she gets well fast this

time. Do not blame yourself for Kristan's illness. I am sure a lot of

parents here will agree with me when I say our special kids are simply more

likely to get colds and flus that can turn to pneumonia easily. has

them every 3 - 4 months once too! I know of a parent who does everything

for her son and he got into a bout of pneumonia last week too. Anyway, just

a quick note to wish Kristan well and you, mummy, take care too.
