Guest guest
A couple recent incidents tell me all my patient explanations are paying off: 1. went to pick up a non-Rx item at our pharmacy - the ferrous gluconate we take. Had a bit of a chat with the tech behind the counter, asked her to 3 bottles at a time for us (100 tabs only lasts 20 days), and then she looked at my son, and said " He's lactose intolerant and allergic to wheat, right? " Now, I hadn't given her his name, she hadn't looked up his records, but we've worked through so many labels with the staff at that pharmacy, they know his allergies by looking at the kid! (he's no longer lactose intolerant, but she still remembered it from having to hunt down LF meds for him in the past) 2. the offspring and I went out to lunch today - Thursday is chicken tikka masala day on the buffet at our favorite Indian restaurant. I hesitated in front of a new dish, and the manager came dashing over - " That has wheat flour, don't try! " He then pointed out everything that was safe (almost everything else) and we successfully stuffed ourselves without getting glutened. This may tell you how often we eat here....
