,

How horrible. I hope it is gone by now.

I just got back from our anniversary trip to Las Vegas and have WAY too many messages but yours caught my eye. I don't know how everybody is but I hope better than you look in this picture. Love to my Lupie friends, Cheryl in CA

-- Lupus and Malar Rash (with picture)

The classic Malar rash as seen in lupus, resembles the shape of a butterfly, extending over the cheeks and bridge of nose.The rash can range from a faint blush to a severe eruption with scaling. The rash reflects the angle at which the ultraviolet radiation from the sun hits the skin.The nasolabial folds (where the outer parts of the nose and cheek meet the upper lip) are usually not affected in lupus.{Yes .. this is me .. this picture was taken after I had been on 60 mg of prednisone for 3 weeks .. notice the lovely moon face (chipmunk cheeks)? those are side effects of the prednisone. That plus the rash .. sheesh .. I dont even look like myself. .. }

Well, right now .. the rash is almost gone ..

just looks like I have a bit of blush on ..

it kind of stays that way until I flare ..

then whoa baby .. it swells up and pops out ..

not a pretty sight ..
