Guest guest
I just wanted to point out that drinking lots of water is great for you, but water is many people's main source of flouride. Anyone whose primary source of water is bottled should check in with their dentist. This is esp. true for pregnant people, kids, etc. But I remember reading somewhere a year or so ago that some dentists were theorizing that adult teeth may be suffering as a result of the bottled water craze. My two cents, Suzi (drinks both) __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I recall reading somewhere that they felt that floride in the water was causing problems like cancer in the kidneys?? Nice teeth - but you're dead? Guest guest
If you think about it, you'll note that we're talking drinking much larger quantities of water here than the average person does -- by a long shot. I don't think it's that good an idea to drink that much flouride. I imagine some municipal water gets into everyone's diet, anyway, at work, in soup, you know what I mean. So I'd say the flouride is covered for most. In truth I'm more worried more about what that daily dosing of flouride does to the rest of the body. What if flouride causes rosacea? Maybe it hardens capilaries as it hardens teeth. Can't say we know for sure it doesn't. Guest guest
I was thinking the same thing too. My two youngest kids had, several years ago, terrible problems with their teeth (despite the fact that they saw dentists 2 times each year, had special anti-cavity treatments done, etc.). Part of their problem was, according to dentists, genetic. But then, after discussions, we realized that they'd only been drinking things like milk, Tropicana OJ -- but not any good old NY fluorinated water. I switched to canned OJ to which you have to add (New York) water (plus the complaints of my kids). Now, so far, their teeth, for four years get great checkups and no cavities. Guest guest
Ahem... Correct me if Im wrong here, but I always thought that there is plenty of fluoride in our tooth pastes. So in theory you should be getting all flouride you need as long as you brush your teeth twice a day. There is no need to drink tap water that is full of chrorine and other interesting chemicals. http://www.usatoday.com/life/health/general/lhgen115.htm SC. --- " F.
