Guest guest
Hi Like you I was confused and thought that all squashes could be groupped into winter and summer group depending on season.I am not exactly sure what they mean when they say winter and summer squash though.I calculate separately all foods and do not use exchange list.We do use alot of spagetty squash, butternut squash has too much carbs in it.Neither spagetty squash nor butternut squash fit in " winter " or " summer " squash values as they have way more carbs than winter or summer squash,so I would suggest to calculate every squash separetely. If you need values, let me know,I have a good book with food values Natasha(ph's mom) > Hi! I'm wondering if anyone knows the difference between winter squash and > summer squash?! I notice that the winter squash is a Group B veggie and summer > squash is a Group A. What would spaghetti squash, or acorn squash, or > butternut squash be considered?! Guest guest
Hi! our dietician's veggie list has white, yellow, and zucchini as summer squashes - A group. Specifically listed in the B group are spaghetti, pumpkin, acorn, butternut, and hubbard as winter squashes.
