Guest guest
sounds like our situation - Josh was adopted at 4 days old, birthmom kept the pregnancy secret (or didn't know - she had some developmental delays that, according to birthgrandmom, were from trauma at birth) until 7 months. birthgrandmom insisted birthmom had good nutrition but probably not for a pregnant mom! we've seen results from ST, OT, PT, EFA, EPA, carnaware, etc. the only thing we haven't added is therapeutic amounts of vitamin E - even with all the discussion here, I've been hesitant to add that much vitamin E to the diet until I speak with his neuro in Feb. sherry and josh myra.bauza@... wrote: Now I am convinced we are dealing with neurological complications of nutritional deficiencies (at least in my son's case...and others like him)...a treatable condition with supplements are well at OT , I totally agree with these assessment! My situation is a little different in that my son is adopted as a newborn. His birthmother was 17 years old and hid the pregnancy from her parents! She never sought pre-natal care until about her 7 month at which time she started to show and told her parents she was going to enter Job America program held in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. While she was there she was counseled into giving her child up for adoption. I believe that because she hid the pregnancy and was under such duress that my son did not receive the necessary nutrients for proper brain development. He has improved greatly with the combination of ST, OT and EFA, EPA & Vitaimin E! ----------------------------------------- This transmission may contain information that is privileged, confidential, legally privileged, and/or exempt from disclosure under applicable law. Guest guest
Sherry & Josh, I only give my son 400iu of High Gamma Tocopherol and I believe it has helped. I do not subscribe to giving him high doses of any of these therapies. I've given him moderate to conservative amounts and I too believe all have HELPED a great deal in combination with ST & OT. sherry silvern <srsilvern (DOT) com> To Sent by: childrensapraxian cc et@... m Subject Re: [ ] Re: drooling/birthmarks-myra 12/28/2006 11:14 AM Please respond to childrensapraxian et@... m sounds like our situation - Josh was adopted at 4 days old, birthmom kept the pregnancy secret (or didn't know - she had some developmental delays that, according to birthgrandmom, were from trauma at birth) until 7 months. birthgrandmom insisted birthmom had good nutrition but probably not for a pregnant mom! we've seen results from ST, OT, PT, EFA, EPA, carnaware, etc. the only thing we haven't added is therapeutic amounts of vitamin E - even with all the discussion here, I've been hesitant to add that much vitamin E to the diet until I speak with his neuro in Feb. sherry and josh myra.bauza@... wrote: Now I am convinced we are dealing with neurological complications of nutritional deficiencies (at least in my son's case...and others like him)...a treatable condition with supplements are well at OT , I totally agree with these assessment!
