Vacations do not need to be a week long to help you recoup from a life

with Lupus.

There is a lot you can do in 24 hours to help you relax.

BUT .. like " real " vacations .. they take a little bit of planning.

The dust in your house is not going anywhere.

So leave it .. say No to cleaning for one day.

Your family is NOT going to starve in one day.

Plan ahead .. make a large pot of soup for them to eat on all day.

Or buy a big tub of fried chicken with side orders of macaroni, cole

slaw, and all the fixings.

Cereal, peanut butter and jelly or a cheese sandwich can be made even by

6 yr. old kids.

And it wont kill them to eat it for one day.

Say NO to cooking for one day.

Have the family use paper plates and cups for one day.

Say NO to doing the dishes for one day.

Say NO when the kids ask you for something.

It will do them good to realize you are not going to jump when they say

jump.

Say NO when the spouse asks you for something.

He must be made aware you need help, he is not a mind reader.

Not catering to their every whim is NOT going to kill them, no matter

how sad they look.

Say Yes to staying in bed till 10 am.

Say Yes to a bubble bath in the middle of the day.

Say Yes to watching television all afternoon.

Say Yes to pampering yourself with aromatic candles and soft music.

You have a choice ..

you can take some time for yourself, on your own, to help you heal

mentally as well as physically..

or you can keep pushing yourself till your body rebels and you end up in

the hospital.

Learn to say NO ..

Saying NO is sometimes a good thing to try.

Sometimes you have to say NO to survive life!

You just have to remember that just because you have to say NO today,

doesn't mean you can't say YES tomorrow!
