Guest guest Posted April 11, 2000 Report Share Posted April 11, 2000 Hi Everyone, I just got my surgery date of Monday, May 15, 2000 (my sons 21st birthday, he wanted this before an actual present). Is anyone else scheduled for this date. I am really excited about starting a new life but I am scared to death of surgery. I am going to the clinic on Saturday, April 29th, is anyone scheduled for the 1:00 clinic that day? I am flying into Durham Friday night and taking a cab to the Hampton Inn. Is the clinic at Dr. R's office or the Hospital, so I know how to plan for the next day. I hear there is a support group that Saturday between 3-5 and I am thrilled to be able to sit in on that. Guest guest Posted April 11, 2000 Report Share Posted April 11, 2000 Doc. Can I still get in the last of May or beginning of June? My Idea date would be June 5. My son will be out of school and we could make a trip of it. Is that a busy day? I have almost everything done just waiting to get in for a pap smear. I might have my urologist do it, he just gave me an exam to check the tilt of my bladder. I have to go on the 20th for a follow-up after my surgery last week (kidney stone blasted). I am from Randallstown, land and I have been waiting for this surgery for months. I have my insurance approval which was through Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO of Pennsylvania. I also confirmed with Debbie today that my patient packet was received and approved. I go to clinic on Tuesday May 23rd. Do I have any littermates out there???? I am so excited!!!! I can not wait to begin my new life. Debbie also was very happy and positive for me and I do appreciate that. I live in the suburbs of Baltimore, land. I am 42 and single and have been overweight since college. I will be staying with my family and best friend at the Residence Inn in Durham. This will be my first time ever having any type of surgery. At one point, I weighed 465 lbs. Now I weigh around 390lbs. I am 5'7 " tall. I am a diabetic and have sleep apnea. Any advise as I prepare to go into surgery? It will save you time the morning of surgery. Read over and formulate responses to the Special Informed Consent form in the Patient Manual. This will also save you time the morning of surgery as you will have to write your answers and initial each paragraph. After surgery, if you are in bad pain, ask for the pain pump!
