Guest guest
It can take awhile to get things to settle down after a sickness. When you complete the antibiotics, you should give some plain natural yogurt or acidopholus for a few days to get the good bacteria back into the digestive tract. That will help with digestion. Show your consultant the Ketogenic Diet book, the part about reducing or eliminating medications. You don't have to wait a year, only until the diet is working. You have passed that point. Guest guest
It is VERY important to make sure your pediatrician is on board with the diet. Most medications and antibiotics ARE available sugar/carb free, but your ped. has to be willing to sometimes research and determine appropriate dosages for your child. While your child's health must always come first and there may be times when coming off the diet for awhile (during periods of the flu, etc.), it is important to go into your doctors' offices confident in your decision to have your child on the diet. If your pediatrician does not seem to support your decision, I would find a new pediatrician. Re: Antibiotics! It can take awhile to get things to settle down after a sickness.
