Guest guest
Eilish's nose although still runny is no longer green is clear, Im hoping the green stuff hasn't gone South! Her cough is still pretty good. She's sitting her serenading me about her glutius maximus - she just learn't that today on a Hi-5 video (kids group). Does Augemtin take 7 or 10 days to complete a course?

And the script that got written out this afternoon means that we'll be taking it for fourteen days if we have to fill it. (I think we always automatically get a double length course, so perhaps normally is 7 days?) Generally, we fill the repeat, so we do Augmentin Duo for, count them, 28 days straight every time....... I live for antibiotic doses, NOT. I'm back from doing the presentation. I didn't actually cry, but my gosh I went close. You know, I don't know how often I have written down " CF is a progressive, genetic, terminal disease " , but I nearly broke down when I said it in front of 50 people! (And I can sing into a microphone in front of hundreds of people with no problems at all. Human brains are weird...) But the parents were really great. I got the usual " But you can't tell by looking at her " , but I also got some quite informed/reasonable comments & questions. A bit more education out there tonight... I'm too wired up to sleep though. I'll say it again, in case she missed it last time. WE LOVE YOU JILL!!!!! Guest guest
All of the kids at my house, cf or not, are usually prescribed a 14 day course of Augmentin. Guest guest
Do you think she might have an allergy to something than is blossoming right now? I understand that sometimes runny noses, esp. if it flucuates between clear and coloured can be a sign of a sensitivity to something in the environment, rather than a bug. My son had this for months (really congested though as well) and a round of Flonase and a special antibiotic/dialator spray the ENT made up really helped. The doc described it as " asthma of the nose " ! Jane Baxter wrote: > Jane, > > Today it was green, I dont know whats going on some days clear some days > snot oops not. Guest guest
Jane, Thats interesting. The rest of us suffer sinus & hayfever alot so why should she be any different. Yesterday her cough was wet, and my husband did physio this morning so I dont know what its like today. Would anti-biotics do anything for her nose - oral antibiotics? Guest guest
We have been dealing with the same prob. for about 6 yrs now and have just recently had to have his sinus' scraped and polyps removed the yucky green stuff has gone away so far but we are still plagued by a clear runny nose ! We are now doing a water oic every night as well! Flonase and Rinocort never helped. Hope you have better luck ! Guest guest
, Here's my totally uneducated idea on this. Hayfever, allergies etc start the sinus membrane getting overactive hence the runny nose. When it turns green and thick, combined with sinus pain and congestion this extra mucus has probably become infected.. This happens with Eleanora and oral antibiotics have worked well in the past (cefzil or keflex mostly) although lately they have not cleared it up entirely. Our next swab might tell us what we're dealing with, we are very limited in the oral antibiotics we can use with her because her gut is so sensitive. I am going to ask the doc about flonase for her as well. Jane Baxter wrote: > Jane, > > Thats interesting. The rest of us suffer sinus & hayfever alot so why > should she be any different.
