Guest guest
Hi All!! Had my 2nd photofacial on Thursday. She increased the energy a bit so I felt the pulses alot more, but nothing painful. I already notice the results. My pores are way samaller and I would say the reduction of redness is about 40%. I have had a couple of flushes but it was expected. I am very pleased with the results so far and I still have six more treatments to go. For you guys who wanted to know about Spamedica I really recommend it. Does anyone know of a really good self tanner (one that doesn't turn you orange) After all these treatments I am definitly not going to bake in the sun like I used to. Thanks, Jody
Guest guest
Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know how I'm doing. For the past six months I've had lots of flushing, papules and pimples all over my chin, jaw, and the area between mouth and nose charmingly described as naso-labial folds. Some of you may remember that the breakout coincided with two things: using Renova for cosmetic reasons, and changing to a higher-profile job. My derm thought that Renova had triggered the breakouts. Well, I've been carefully extrapolating from the group's information (as well as some of my own), and I recently look much better. Here's whats been helping -- in the order that they've helped. It's like each item is a brick in the process)... 1. Taking a good B complex vitamin 2. Adding 50 mg. of zinc every night 3. Minocyclin (I'm not certain this has helped in the general scheme of things and I'm going off of it when my month is up... I'll keep you posted) 4. Accupuncture and the herbal prescription from my accupuncturist (visible reduction in paps and inflammation after first treatment) 5. Florasone, a topical anti-inflammatory homeopathic cream you can buy at a health food store. The label describes it as natural cortisone, but says it doesn't thin skin or create the nasty problems that arise with steroids. 6. Washing my face with pure, ground oatmeal (great suggestion fellow list-member!) 7. Dr. Haushka's Rythmic Conditioner, Sensitive. (Expensive, looks like it should be hogwash, but seems to work. Has lessened my dependency on creams.) 8. Dr. Hauska's Rose Day Cream, a great moisturizer. 9. Vigorous, hot exercise (at the advice of my accupuncturist). My face actually looks better after a hot yoga class. 10. Hot and cold rinses in the shower (see #9). 11. Reevaluating my previous skincare routine and guess what? The expensive night cream I'd been using (La Mer), which is touted as " healing " and good for rosacea (in the Bliss catalog) was making me breakout. I had started using it with the Renova six months ago to counteract the initial dryness and peeling that comes with the Renova. I can't believe I went this long without connecting the two!!! 12. Now that I've smoothed out, I'm back to using Renova to smooth out the red marks left by the breakouts. It seems to be helping. 13. Heavy re-evaluation of my diet. More water (room temp., not cold, as per accupuncturist), and I'm finding that wheat is behind much of my flushing and complaints (especially the after-lunch flushing). I already knew I was allergic to foods in the nightshade family and have avoided them for years... but wheat? If a nutritionist friend hadn't suggested it, I would never have checked it out. After a wheat-free week, each of two forays into wheat was followed by stuffiness, flushing, and sneezing. 14. Moving my desk, which used to face a major service panel, to the other side of the room. The panel was emitting EMFs strong enough to disrupt my computer monitor, and I felt it increased my flushing. I hope someone finds something useful in here.
