Hi and welcome. I'm Autumn and have been with this group since August. I

am also LCing, since I was diagnosed with PCOS in September. I did well

until December, when I tried to quit smoking and do the LC at the same

time as the holidays were upon us. Oy! I promised myself I'd get back in

the swing of things when I returned from my holiday trip home (which was

yesterday). We'll see!

I can forward some recipes/suggestions to you both off-list if you'd

like. . Also, I belong to another great group (which is for PCOS'ers)

but has a humongous archive of LC recipes, tips, advices, etc. You may

want to join it and just go to their databases online, which have entire

LC cookbooks to download! Let me know at athdesign@...

This group is awesome. Hope you are enjoying already.

Autumn

Hi ,

It stands for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

As far as your IBS, try to pick the leanest proteins you can, and at

least cut down/out all " white " food-potatos, pasta, rice, white flour,

sugar. You don't have to automatically eat very high fat while

low-carbing. I eat a lot of veggies, tuna, very lean meats (mostly

venison, chicken, fish), berries, and small amounts of whole grains. I

also use turkey bacon and low-fat string cheese. I guess you're just

going to have to do trial and error to see what foods will not aggravate

your condition.

HTH,

Autumn :)

Hey Autumn,

Can I ask what PCOS stands for?? I meant to tell ya'll that I know we

are dealing with other health issues as well as just trying to lose

weight. I know it is kind of hard for me to do the low carb thing

because, the cheese and meats like steaks and stuff eventually hurt my

stomach because of my IBS...so that is one reason I come off....I guess

it must be the fat...so maybe I can find some low carb low fat

things....the bacon, sausage, cheese...I love them all so much but they

eventually lead to my days of not being able to eat anything...even water

hurts me so bad. Does anyone else have IBS??
