Guest guest
Hi All! My name is and I am mom to 2 boys Hunter (5) and Brayden (will be 2 on Jan. 10th). Hunter was a VERY earlier talker so this is something that is new for us. When we took Brayden to his 18 month appointment, the ped asked how many words he was saying. At that time it was mama, dada, ball, car and bye-bye. He told us that he just wanted him evaluated in case there was a problem, we could catch it early. The speech therapist said that he was fine, just seemed not to want to talk. She told us to start doing simple signs with him to cut down on some of his frustration and that he still wasn't talking in a year, to bring him back. Well, it's been 6 months and he now says 2 words (mama and dada) won't even say those other words anymore. He does about 5 signs. He could do more, but I have been reluctant to have him depending too much on signs because I'm not sure if it would delay the talking even more. Any suggestions or should I just wait it out? I will be looking over the posts on here over the next couple of days for ideas also! Thanks so much! in Florida
Guest guest
Hi Katy, my name is a and my son just got his band last week, so we are new here as well. His name is Cade and is also 9 months old. What symptons did your son show that made you realize he had an allergy?Katy s <kstevens00@...> wrote: Thanks for the welcoming replies everyone! Of course we tried the hypoallergenic Aliplast, too, but he was also allergic to that. He has a latex allergy, too, so it kind of comes with the territory. There is not really much we can do with the helmet. We aren't looking for perfection because I don't think we can get that at this point, just improvement, which we are seeing!Katy New Here! Hi Everyone,My name is Katy and I just found this group about Plagio and I'm sohappy because I've been looking for some support! My ds is 9 monthsold and was diagnosed at 3 months with brachycephaly, mild tomoderate. We tried to get him a helmet but he had a severe allergicreaction to the co-polymer plastics used to make it so we are nowtrying other methods to try to reshape his head, includingrepositioning and CranioSacral Therapy. We're getting pretty goodresults. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself!Katy and Max AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com. Guest guest
Hi a! Congrats on getting the helmet for Cade. I knew my son was having an allergic reaction because within hours of putting on the helmet he had a rash all over his body (raised welts almost like poison ivy). I thought it was either a heat rash or an allergy (he has a latex allergy so I'm familiar with it). He then started wheezing so then I knew for sure it was an allergic reaction and I immediately removed the helmet. An allergic reaction is really really rare, especially to the hypoallergenic foam. I seem to have a very sensitive baby!Katy New Here! Hi Everyone,My name is Katy and I just found this group about Plagio and I'm sohappy because I've been looking for some support! Guest guest
Wow, how scary! a, I don't know what band you have but I've heard that no one has ever had an allergic reaction in the DOC band. Like Katy said, it is very rare for a baby to have an allergic reaction. > > Thanks for the welcoming replies everyone! Guest guest
my daughters scrunched at the eyes too and ct told me to just move the band up. the little ones tissue is so soft that the band pushes it down. easy enough to fix! my daughter, kate got her band two weeks ago. we never had any difficulty with sleeping except when she was hot. the onsie was too cool so we use long pants with a short sleeved shirt-that seems to work. good luck! kate is 10mths as of last week. we painted her band too and it came out super cute! > > Hi everyone!
