Guest guest
Hi athan and Joanne - have taken note of your questions. I think it must be obvious that sleeplessness is a cause of fatigue for anybody, with or without chronic disease.. And if you add itching problems - which are usually worse in the night - then you have clear reasons for fatigue whatever may be happening in your brain. I don't know how far the researchers have taken these things into account. Do they miss the obvious? There's another article in The J. of Hep., of which only the abstract is available, on an investigation into depression and fatigue. They come to the conclusion that depression is NOT the cause of fatigue. Common sense might suggest it's more likely to be the reverse. If you're very tired and just can't do the things you want or need to do - you can get depressed. And if you have IBD problems as well! - then we have reasons enough for depression.
