Guest guest
, Where do you live? Are you in Indiana? We have been to both Chicago to see Dr. Chez who is AWESOME but pricey and Cleveland Clinic. We started the diet at Hopkins. I live in the Indianapolis area. Hang in there and don't give up/ Who are you seeing?
Guest guest
We live in SOuth bend, we have medicaid and od not have the finnaces to go anywhere else. We see patel and walsh. He has had c-diff since april and still battling. Dieticina and nurse think he will always be a carrier, we have done 3 rounds of vancomyacin, a colonoscopy with enema to clean him out and are starting the only probiotic he ca take on keto. I might be scre**** if the diet fails due to c- diff. > , > Where do you live? Are you in Indiana? We have been to both Chicago to see > Dr. Chez who is AWESOME but pricey and Cleveland Clinic. Guest guest
, If you have a terrible bacteria infection like that and using strong antibiotics, it is unlikely that the ketogenic diet will work very well, if at all. Once you get rid of that infection and return his digestive tract to normal, things should get a lot better on the diet. Even if you have to go off the diet to rid him of the infection, you can always start again. I am curious as to why only one probiotic that you can take on keto.. I like to use a bit of natural yogurt. Bill wrote: > > We live in SOuth bend, we have medicaid and od not have the finnaces > to go anywhere else. We see patel and walsh. Guest guest
Have you used Flagyl? We used that for with his GI bacteria and it helped. has been battling seizure control since July and his issues are directly gastrointestinal related (we strongly think). He got really constipated and then backed up and then bacteria etc. We have used high doses of Miralax for 1 month and now have slowed down and he is regular and much better I might add. I don't know Walsh but I know Patel. She is good. We saw Garg, Patel and there and as I told you, was our reason for leaving. I would agree with Bill that you will have to get the underlying gastro issues resolved before being successful on the keto diet. I think that medically, there should be something they can do to get the c diff resolved?? Then, you should have better control on the diet. Good luck to you
Guest guest
Yes well we have gotten rid of it twice but it keeps cpming back. The GI can't get it to go away. We just started this probiotic so we will see, he seems to be having a large amount of bm so I hope he is cleaning himself out. I hate this c-diff cr**. THey could do another colonoscopy and clean him out again, but she want to try this first. If the diet fails cause of this I will be so upset. THanks > Have you used Flagyl? Guest guest
He is allergic to flagyl, in april when this first started that was the first drug, that's why we had to do the vanc. But he can't have vanc anymore, too much will cause vanc related c-diff. > > Have you used Flagyl?
