Otherwise I can't answer your question. The GI docs say Benefiber is GF. See: http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/internet/digestive-health/nutritionarticles\ /dennisarticleapril.pdf#search=%22benefiber%20gluten%22 I would be willing to try it. See if you can find a different form factor that doesn't say wheat dextrin on it. Hope this helps and doesn't just make everything more muddy. Benefiber states that it is > gluten free, but the ingredient is " wheat dextrin " . How can that be > actually be gluten free? > Whether or not to use Benefiber.......... Hmmmm.... It used to be guar gum (GF). Now it's wheat dextrin. It tests at 10ppm gluten. Canada defines GF as <20ppm gluten. So.... in Canada, the Benefiber is still " GF " ??? I don't know if I'd use it or not. http://www.centralarkansasgig.org/images/gfcaAug06.pdf#search=%22benefiber%20whe\ at%20dextrin%22 Wonder if you can find a supplement with the Benefiber benefits (tasteless, mix in any drink) that is still made of guar gum. That would be the way to go I would guess. Good luck! I'll stop typing now as I'm really ignorant on this topic and shouldn't be typing at all! Guest guest
I just checked the Benefiber in my cupboard and it lists guar gum as it's ingredient. I got it at Costco (read LARGE size) last week. Maybe some of the old formulation might still be available. It's a shame they are changing, the product is completely colorless and doesn't thicken up like some others. Vicki

Guest guest
I was told that Miralax which is a tasteless powder put into a liquid is GF. I know it has worked wonders for my daughter. Guest guest
Why spend so much money for Benefiber, if it is sometimes GF and other times not?! Just use milled flax meal/seed. The one I like is from Hodgson Mill, and costs about $3 for a box that will last me a YEAR. Not only that, but you get the omegas too.
