Re: Norwalk get together

Okay, I have just taken out the calendar and before every weekend day is

filled, let's pick one to go play at Norwalk.

Free dates for us:

October 8th (Sun) or 9th (Monday/Columbus Day)

Oct 15th (Sun)

Nov 11th or 12th (sat/sun)

Nov 19 (sun) maybe.

Then the next weekend is Thanksgiving and after that our lives tend to get

nuts until Christmas.

So ... how does everyone feel about the Columbus Day weekend? Shall we

shoot for that?

Let me know. If we have enough of us, I might be able to arrange for a

group rate -- I've done it before for the scouts.

I just asked Ian how he felt about being the big-brother for the trip since

he'd be older than the rest of the kids. He shrugged said " sure, fine " and

said " I get to go too, right? " (of course, it's a family trip.)

This past spring Ian was the object for " Show and Tell " for two D/HOH

kindergartners in a nearby elementary school. The kids are little ones who were

also served by our TOD and she though that their classmates might do well to

see

a big kid with hearing aids. So, he was what we called the

" teddy-bear-of-the-day. " (grin) He actually had fun.

So, let me know if Columbus Day weekend works, if not the other dates are

the ones we have open.

Norwalk get together

I live in Stamford (just south of Norwalk) and we would love to meet

with everyone too! Didn't know there were so many of us in this

area! We have really never met any other kids who are HOH so I

think it would be so nice for to meet other kids!! Please let

me know if you have a date to get together.

Columbus Day weekend (Sun or Mon) would work for us. Are we talking

about the acquarium? I'm a member, and I think I am entitled to some

Oh, man!

We're going to be *IN* Connecticut that weekend - my stepbrother is getting

married! (The boys are so excited about getting fly again - I'm just hoping

I survive the flights!)

So we won't be able to go, but we'll be waving in your general direction!

It's about an hour and a half drive for us, so for me it'll be all 4 of us

making a family day of it. But that shouldn't influence anyone else's choice to

bring the kids or everyone. Mine both adore the Norwalk Aquarium and are

older -- the whining around here usually involves wanting more cell phone

minutes, a later curfew or a t-shirt with a " cool " skull on it. (grin)

So, it seems that Sunday the 8th is the day of choice.

Now it's just a matter of a head count to see if we can get a discount. If I

remember correctly, it has to be about 20, so I doubt we'll make it up to

that level. But I'll call, the group rates aren't listed on their website.

half-marathon in preparation for the NYC Marathon, - where he will be

running to raise money for MSKCC on Fred's Team, woo-hoo!)

We also have Oct 15 free, and Nov 18/19.

Everything else is already booked. We're busy people.

Iam free every date Jill mentioned - and more. My triplets are three and

demonstrating some very difficult behavior so we don't make alot of social

plans!! Our weekends tend to be playground and church. Is everyone bringing

their WHOLE family? I think it might be easier for me (and a nicer day for

!) if I just go alone with her and leave the other 2 home with Daddy. What

happens everytime we go anywhere is they all want me, no one wants to walk with

Daddy (or Grandma, or whoever we are with). Even if I brought another person to

help, they would all whine and cry to be with me. They would all whine and cry

if I tried to have a conversation with any of you also. They don't like to share

my attention. It has gotten very bad. I don't give in to their demands for

attnetion, but they make it very difficult (or should I say IMPOSSIBLE!) to talk

to anyone in their presence - unless they are having fun in the playground.

Just curious if everyone else is bringing the

whole family.
