Are these made with raw eggs?

ovenproof ramekins, put into baking dishes half filled

with water and bake. i can fit 7 at a time in and then

lidded plastic containers for travelling. happy

As far as I know, it substitutes equally. I get it in the dairy section right

next to the regular eggs.

I think you need to be careful with the egg beaters because some have just

the whites. I am sorry I don't recall all of the details of this because we

don't use eggnogs but I recall that when we started the diet a few months

ago and were sent home with eggnogs I asked the dietician about using egg

beaters instead of real eggs and she said that they shouldn't be substituted

on a one to one basis.

I just found the response that I got back when I asked the question about

Egg Beaters:

Eggs have fat in the yolk part... + protein in the white... and Eggbeaters

are just the whites.. so they aren't interchangeable. You need another

recipe made with eggbeaters

This is an eggnog meal with eggbeaters

56 gm 36% cream

35 gm Eggbeaters

10 gm canola oil

We use raw eggs as per the " book " and have had no problems. We keep them

in the cooler with the cream and other diet essentials. I don't think

that you can interchange eggbeaters for regular eggs. I have never used

them. We use the keto eggnogs for sickness as each sip is the correct ratio.

Thanks, .

I didn't have eggbeaters so I made it up with cream and eggs and baked it llike

custard and SHE LOVED IT. I served it with apple juice in water for her

beverage (and carbs). It was a nice meal. And a change in texture for her.

Thanks for sharing. .

Sorry about the confusion with the eggbeaters -'s calories have

Dear Bill

Not too long ago I read something about even restaurants having to cook eggs

thoroughly through, as were finding some kind of bacteria in raw egg. Just what

I don't need! Did try the custard recipe of egg and cream mixed and baked (with

stevia and vanilla) and it was a big hit! Great smooth texture. No chewing

necessary, or barely... never bores of her meals, but I do, so it was nice

to try something different.

.......... all this talk of food is making me hungry.

In Sick Kids hospital in Toronto they do not use eggs for eggnog as

row eggs are not allowed in hospitals. They use protein

powder 'Promod " instead.I also believe you can use soy protein if

you wanted as protein food for eggnog.Just look in food value book

and substitute eggs with protein powder if you do not want to use

rsw eggs

Thanks for the suggestion! My daughter does not tolerate soy. And you would

not believe the number of foods that have soy in them!!! What you have me

wondering is if I could use dry eggs! If I can get the values on them, I will

try the dry eggs.

Sure you can use dry eggs if you know how much carbs, fats and

protein she gets in each meal, why not? You can calculate whatever

you want as long as it fits in meal plan. Here is value for you I

found in my food value book, just in case if you need eggnog liqud (

for sickness or whatever)

egg powder 10gm:

fat 1.3 gm

pro 5.5 gm

carb 2.2 gm

Hi

I 've bought the book on advise of our dietitian.I do not have Excel

on my computer and I use hand calculation. You can get different food

value books for different prices, but you have to watch them as some

of them offer ammounts in cups, not grams. My book is expensive, but

since it was suggested by our dietitian I bought it as i need to

find food values somewhere. The name is " Food values of portions

commonly used " by Bowes&Church.I got it on amazon.ca and I got brand

new edition. You can also get older editions for less money but I

dont really know how much can you rely on them as some of them are

20 years old.I do not know anything about other food value books,if

you wanted to get something maybe you should ask for advise your

dietitian and see what she thinks

Thanks, Natasha

I am going to look for it. I know there is a website, but I would like a hard

copy of the values. I don't have excel, either, but my dietitian said

Ketocalculator is $90 & anyone can buy it. It is what she uses. I didn't think

non-professionals could use it... I haven't checked into it.

You do well to hand calculate all ph's meals! Good for you! I think Bill

does, too.

Thanks for the info... .
