Sometimes w/ the open RNY on very morbidly obese pts. they lose weight so rapidly their fat actually liquidates(I forget the name of this process). Many patients think it's infection,but find it's not. If he does have a high infection rate...you really might want to consider another surgeon. Dr> R has a very low infection rate.
