I still like to take a trip to New York City to go to a play or go walking around Times Square, but it's good only for a day or a weekend, I would not be comfortable living there.

Mojo I would love to take a trip to NYC just to say i been there. No i wouldn't want to move there either. I live in a small town where just about everyone knows everyone if they don't know you you heard of that person. But my and my youngest neice every year when we all plan a vacation together me and her always says lets go to NYC. I am like you i just want to walk around and enjoy it and see what i am not missing at all. I do hate my town cause there is nothing to do here we have to travel to orlando to go shopping and to go out to a nice club. which orlando is not to far at all from me it's only like a 35min drive depends on traffice i am 45 mins from the theme parks that is good. But I know one day before i die i will have my trip to NYC.

I used to work in New York City for 11 years. Believe me when I tell you it was always extremely hot there during winter, and extremely cold in the summer time. I could never understand that. People would obsess over the heat to a point where it would be up to 90 degrees in the office in January, but in July we would hardly get 60 degrees and I had to wear a heavy sweaters.

I also don't understand why people are so high in the big cities. They run around, live in tiny apartments and get frustrated easily. Then they are miserable because they didn't meet anyone in their life. People are so indifferent, they know each other, yet they don't know anyone. They're too wrapped up with running. I've seen it plenty of times. One of the managers in the company I worked for moved away some time ago. She was a rich little lady from a very wealthy family. Still, she was never happy in NYC. Now she lives somewhere in Georgia and she couldn't be happier. I still like to take a trip to New York City to go to a play or go walking around Times Square, but it's good only for a day or a weekend, I would not be comfortable living there.

I have visited NYC many times. I have to admit I did enjoy the visit but I was much younger then. I have no desire to return for another visit! What a conglomeration of people, huh. My friends and I were walking down a street in the Greenwich village and there, right on the sidewalk, was a man laying down, obviously under the influence of something. He was dirty (that's putting it mildly) and smelly and a friend made a remark about the man to me. Well, I guess he heard what was said and he commenced to give my friend the riot act all the while laying on the cement! I don't think I will ever forget that.

Your comment about the temperature control in the office reminds me of my house! My husband likes to keep it hot in the winter, so hot that sometimes I can't breath and then when summer comes it's freezing in here! We play musical thermostats! lol My husband works in a big hanger with no air conditioning so when he comes home in the summertime he wants to feel nice and cool......to cool for me. Oh well, I guess I can understand where he's coming from. Growing up in NJ we didn't have any air conditioning, I don't remember anyone who did. Have things changed since I moved?

Hi Kimi......there's a lot of good to be said of a small town. Problem is, small towns in Florida don't stay small. I would like to know what you thought about NYC if you ever got to chance to visit. I found it to be exhausting even when I was young. I couldn't handle a visit at all today......but that's me. Hey, you know what I would really like to see......the shuttle going up! I have seen it fly piggyback over my house in when we were stationed at Lackland AFB but I have never experienced a liftoff. Someday.............

hugs....
