2nd Photofacial - Happy Ending

Hi All,

I am the person who posted about 3 weeks ago about how painful my first

photofacial was. I had asked the group about Elamax cream and I got both

positive and negative responses about using it. I decided to use it, just

because I didn't think I could handle the pain again. Well on my endless

search to find this cream, I did not have much success. I asked a number of

pharmacies if they could order it for me and no one could. I finally got my

Albertson's to order it for me. Well, I went in to pick it up the morning

of the treatment, and it had not come in yet. So, needless to say I decided

to go to the treatment without the cream. Well when I got in, they put me

in a different room, this time with a different machine (An Epifacial?)

When the technician started the treatment I could barely feel it at all. I

left the appointment completely happy. I'm not sure about the results yet.

I had absolutely no swelling afterwards, but now 4 days later I feel like my

face is more red, but I hear that that is common.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I made it through a treatment just

fine, with minimal pain and I am a big baby! I haven't decided if I will go

buy the cream for my next treatments yet. Thanks for everyone's support and

input.

Hi ,

Chances are they used a higher filter on the Epilight. You probably

got a 550 for your first tx. This time with the Epilight they

probably used a 570 or 590, which does not hurt as much. If you can

tolerate the tx without Elamax, I'd strongly recommend not using the

Elamax; it causes vasoconstriction and can reduce the effectiveness

of the TX. Sounds as if you made the right decision.
