Guest guest
I have trouble with any fluid that is blended in a blender foaming some, so I just use the pulse button and that cuts the foam down. Try blending the formula for less time in short bursts (a few seconds), if you haven't already that is. , mom to Ethan 2/26/03-4/10/04 too much foam..frequent seizures and sleepy periods I am having trouble with CarlieJaes formula foaming up? We mix it in the blender using RCF, polycose and sunflower oil. We make nine feeds at a time three in each batch. there seems to be a lot of foam.I was thinking of steaming baby carrots and adding them as a carbohydrate replacement? (I am worried that Carlie jae is missing out on her calorie allotment she getting approx 1000 and is 39 pounds very thin. She is g-tube fed also and is not very active but growing a lot. she is also having frequent seizures thanks Robyn mom of Carlie Jae " The Ketogenic Diet....a realistic treatment option, NOT just a last resort! Guest guest
Maybe try canola oil or safflower oil and use a lower speed on the blender. You would have to recalculate the meals to use carrots, but anything is possible on the diet. Carrots are fairly high carbohydrate content so you wouldn't need too much. They do have some fibre. I am not sure if they would plug the g-tube. We haven't used the g-tube for semi-solids for a few years, so I am a bit foggy about it. Maybe commercial baby food would be a way to start out. You would have to read the labels very carefully though.
