Guest guest
Sorry! Here's the rest of my regimen. AM again... I've had good luck with Clinique products, so I use Clinique Almost Make-Up (SPF 15) as a make-up base, moisturizer, and sunscreen. And I use Clinique All About Eyes for an eye cream. I also use a little other make-up, depending on my day. I've found that a dusting of the Double Face Powder is good to tone down redness; also, their Canvas Touch Base works great to really cover redness, but I haven't had to use it for a while. In the morning I always take a Tagamet (I read somewhere this was good) and, if my day is going to include a lot of social contact, I've been taking an Inderal (beta-blocker) to control social flushing. This works for me. However, I might replace it with Buspar, and anti-anxiety med that my doctor actually prescribed for my IBS. I've been on it for a week now, and it seems to control both my IBS and my flushing. So we'll see. Supplement-wise, during the course of the day after meals I take Herpanacine (which I think has successfully replaced my antibiotics), a multi, esther C, flaxseed oil, acidophilus, and papaya enzymes. In the late afternoon I use a Nasalcrom nose spray and take a baby aspirin. At night, I typically use a different cleanser so I can take off all my make-up, which liquid Cetaphil is not good at. It leaves a thin film on your face. I can tolerate Sensitive Skin Dove soap, Kay TimeWise cleanser, and Dermalogica Special Cleansing gel. So it depends on what I have on hand. I use Noritate on my cheeks, nose, and chin, then Neutrogena anti-wrinkle cream on my whole face, and more Clinique All About Eyes around my eye area. And if that's not enough, I take a milk thistle pill before I go to bed! If all this sounds like a lot, I agree. Isn't there a single pill out there that can make me and my skin healthy?! :-) Somebody please critique this and tell me what I should add and subtract. I'm hoping Dr. Nase's book will help. There's just so much information and so many supplements and meds out there, I don't know what to do. So, after all this for many months, and several VersaPulse laser and Photoderm sessions, my skin is a whole lot better than it used to be. Believe it or not, people often tell me that I have beautiful skin. I always smile and say thanks, but inside I'm thinking, " God, if you only knew! " My next step is to try V-Beam; I have an appt. next week. I still have flushing and swelling on my nose and cheeks, especially due to certain triggers, but sometimes my nose decides to get red for no reason that I can figure out. Oh, going back to my first incomplete e-mail, in the morning if I don't hve to go anywhere special right away, I just splash with water and put Clinique City Block 25 SPF all over my face and around my eyes. It has zinc oxide and titanium oxide and is very soothing. Perfect for walking my dog around the neighborhood. So that's it! , I bet you'll be sorry you asked. If I can think of anything else I've done or do that works, I'll let you know. Oh, there is one thing. I'm definitely better when I do a low-carb/high protein diet, but I haven't had a lot of success in sticking to one. -Becky If this sounds like a lot, I agree.
