Guest guest
BMW... What wonderful news! I am glad to hear her oxygen level is stabilizing. From one who has been on a ventilator, I know how frustrated Cat must be feeling. She is also going to be very vulnerable mentally when she gets off and is able to come home. I know too that any confrontations with her family will be doubled in anxiety for her. Don't let them upset her. If it comes to it, talk to the nursing supervisor .. ask them to monitor her heart rate when Cat's family is there .. then the nurses can determine if them being there is doing more harm than good. Because lets face it .. at this point, the only ones getting the satisfaction of them being there is them and their controlling attitudes. Cat doesn't need the aggravation . I know that as soon as I was able to get hold of a pen (I snitched it from a nurse's pocket when she leaned over my bed) I wrote on the sheet ... GET HIM OUT! It was directed towards a member of my hubby's family. He is very pushy and likes to boss people around .. acting all concerned when the nurses were in the room .. and making snide remarks to me when they left. Can we say " Pompous Ass " ? The description fits him to a T! Just make sure Cat has a pen and pad of paper tied to her handrail where she has easy access to it. It is the most frustrating thing to need to make your wishes known, and not be able to do so. keep the strength hon .. and don't let her family push you out! hugs..
