Guest guest
Hi, I've attached two files. One is the orginal excel document. The other is the new version on my new pc Microsoft Works which tends to be unreadable by anyone else i send it to - LOL! i've sent it in it'e entirety as I didn't want to mess with it and end up with it unreadable. As you can see (hopefully!) I was testing my son on reception of voice and sign and expression of voice and sign from him. FYI my sons are both deaf, the youngest, Rory has severe verbal dyspraxia. This was 2 years ago before we knew he was apraxic and when he had been implanted with a Cochlear Implant for 2 years but was not making good progress. The words orginally came from some standard S & L test which I think was for 3-4 year olds. I think i added phrases and words if they seemed appropriate. For example, the animal noises. You may need to change some of the words to reflect the US langauge. I am also including a link for a list of words that the UK education system issues. they are the most important words for children in the first few years of school, for reading and writing. They are not grouped in an easy way and you may find your children 'score' lower on these as they are very 'language' based. My boys tend to be better with nouns but hopeless with the 'filler' words in sentences but this list gives me something to work to, to encourage their sentence construction. Reception and Key Stage One (KS1). This is 4-6years, I think. http://www.fairlands.herts.sch.uk/staff_docs/curriculumtools/key_stage_1_key_wor\ ds_reception.htm > Not sure is this is useful and as my two boys are young and in special schools i am not always sure of age appropriate stuff - anyway, could be useful. http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/primary/publications/literacy/63313/ Good luck and let me know if you have found it useful. regards UK Mummy to 8 and Rory 6 both deaf with cochlear implants, Rory has severe verbal dyspraxia.
