A Training of Trainers

Parent-Educator Collaboration

in the IEP Process:

Working Together

to Improve Student Outcomes

In special education, collaboration between parents and educators is

essential to ensuring that the student is the central focus. Join us in

learning how you can begin to build that important bridge in your district.

This training will prepare a parent and educator team from your building or

district to co-present to groups of families and educators in your district.

Your team should include at least one parent and one special educator (e.g.,

child study team member, special educator teacher, related services

provider, or inclusion facilitator).

Your team will learn:

* To develop an understanding of the characteristics of a

collaborative team;

* To identify key behaviors that facilitate good communication and

effective collaboration;

* About tools and strategies that advance ongoing parent/educator

collaboration in the IEP process; and,

* To plan and implement this training in your school or district.

Send a team who can turnkey this training in your school/district.
