In AOL, you select/highlight the part of the email your want to quote and then hit the reply button. It automatically copies only that portion of the original email. However, now with the changes to Yahoo, it places the text into a box. Then it takes my words and treats the copied words like a photo box, wrapping my reply text around it. It is REALLY weird! So, now I select my choice of quoted text, hit reply, then highlight that copied text (again), copy it, and then delete it and lastly, paste it in again as straight text into the email. A LOT more work that should be needed! (sigh) But at least everyone else is having similar problems, which means my conspiracy theory is not true in this case. Guest guest
Barbara - is there a new way to edit? Whenever I try to delete what was written to only respond to a section it highlights the whole thing? Am i missing something? Guest guest
Hi Sara and Robin - I'm not 100% sure I'm likin' the new yahoo format myself! If you login to yahoo on the web and then edit your groups, you can view messages in " traditional " format vs. the new format. That's what I've done and like it better... Try that and let me know. Thanks - and thanks for being so considerate! Barbara Sara Chaddock wrote: > Barbara - is there a new way to edit? Guest guest
I went to edit your groups and didn't see anything like what you are mentioning. I was just given the option of ind. emails vs. digest, and I could change whether I wanted things changed to HTML or not. > > Hi Sara and Robin - I'm not 100% sure I'm likin' the new yahoo format > myself! Guest guest
Ditto here and quite impossible for me to do if I want to quickly respond from work. What's even better (or is that worse) is that there seems to be two different text boxes that you need to get rid of. Those on digest....if we forget to remove both of them, are they showing up? I can jump to a specific topic without scrolling down to it, etc. To reply I cut and paste the section I'm responding to, which is the way I've always had to do it with MSN (one of the things I miss about AOL is being able to just highlight the text and have it magically appear in the new message, but now I see that wouldn't help me anymore anyway). And also, now I can hit reply at the bottom of a specific message and it puts that subject into my subject box instead of me having to copy and paste that so it doesn't come up as the subject being " Digest 3028 " or whatever digest it is. So I guess there is at least one person who likes the change . Rhonda Savage Mom to Audrey, 9, hearing; and Neal, 6 1/2, CII at 2.9 years " Hard does not mean impossible. Guest guest
Sara, Are you using Yahoo Mail to read? I do and when I hit reply to a message from Listen-Up (individual, not digest) I get plain text that I can easily edit. I believe I have my mail set up to compose in plain text, so this might be what's needed. The thing that bugs me about the new format is that in some people's posts containing a quote from the message they're replying to, there is no change in formatting or other signal to tell me when the quote ends and the reply begins. I guess it must depend on the mail software. - --- Sara Chaddock saraandchadd@...> wrote: > Nope - doesn't work for me? > Barbara Mellert Barbara.T.Mellert@...> wrote: Hi > Sara and Robin - I'm not 100% sure I'm likin' the new yahoo format > myself!
