Guest guest
OMG - how awful! I know this makes your stomach hurt - it would mine. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find them. You're in my thoughts and prayers... Barbara pcknott@... wrote: > We are having a huge crisis. Maggie was trialing some new MicroPower aids by Phonak. She has had them for a month. She took them out on the way home from the audiologist and said she didn't like the way they felt in her ears and she hated the noise reduction. A few days later I offered to trim the part that goes into her ear in hopes of getting a decent trial of the aids. She said she absolutely hated them and could not tolerate the aids turning the volume down on her when she least expected it. She just wanted to take them back and try something else. So I left them in the case on the shelf of the hutch in her room so we'd know exactly where they were when it was time to return to the audiologist. Meanwhile, the audi and I have been emailing back and forth about aids to try, programming the MicroPowers differently etc. So tonight, Maggie tells us that she has lost one of the MicroPower aids and both of the receivers that go in the ear. She had put them in her pu! > rse 2 WEEKS AGO!!! and tried them once during Bible School (which was the week before last) and took them out and put them back in the case in her purse. She realized last night they were lost but didn't say anything to us. So now we have an appt on Monday afternoon and only have part of one aid to return. We have her current aids insured on a rider on our homeowners but I'm not sure if they will pay for aids that we hadn't bought yet. I'm just about freaking out!! > > > > > > All messages posted to this list are private and confidential. Same here in New York! My immediate response was, oh no! And the thought of paying for an aids she neither liked nor wanted, but managed to loss made MY stomach do backflips. And it's not even my crisis! I hope you find it! Have you tossed the inside of your car? That's where we usually find Ian's aids when he's " lost " them out of a pocket or backpack. I wish you luck! Guest guest
Thanks for all the good wishes. We did find one receiver in a friend's car -whew. So now we are down to missing one entire hearing aid instead of 1 1/2 hearing aids. We have searched in numerous cars, couches, etc. Basically trying to follow her tracks for the past 2 weeks. I'm still holding out hope for a miracle and finding the other aid.
