Guest guest
Personally the thought of restricting the number of posts per day is ludicrous. Yes, I agree. I love hearing from everyone, and especially getting all the tasty recipes! ---------------- 190/160/140 BMI = 22.99 7/7/

Guest guest
I'm having to laugh at this now.....the request to DECREASE the list's volume has ADDED to it quite a bit! ---------------- 190/160/140 BMI = 22.99 7/7/
Guest guest
you can edit your membership to not receive any email at all, just read it on the website. or you can get digest only. that way you won't get tons of emails. gail
Guest guest
That's a good one! LoL Try subscribing in digest mode or just subscribing no-mail and reading at the website. Whichever works best for *you*. This list is high volume. -Marlena > >Is there any chance that there >could be a limit put on posts per day, per person? _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
Guest guest
Well, if you don't want a high volume list then my suggestion is to go on digest or unsub. Personally the thought of restricting the number of posts per day is ludicrous. Not meaning to be snide, really...... Guest guest
> Try subscribing in digest mode or just subscribing no-mail and reading at > the website. Whichever works best for *you*. This list is high volume. Digest mode is impossible on this list for many reasons. 1) People don't " quote properly " . 2) Digests containing a mix of html and text emails don't work. Starting with 1... When people just place their comments on the tops of emails and leave the other persons mail underneath - the digest ends up unusable because you end up with 10 copies of the same email... *SOMETIMES* still with the 40 line links spam at the bottom. " Quoting properly " is perhaps a mis-nomer. There used to be " standard " ways of quoting emails which were developed for effecient use of the resources available (Bandwidth and Display). Nowadays we have more of both and these, and " standards " are not as nessassarray anymore. Does however make digests useless. This list is the hardest list for me to read and keep track of probably because it is the only non-technical/social list I am on. Which means that the style is harder for me to read. 2) I just skip html/pretty email unless it has a version of it in plain text at the begining. It gives me a headache trying to read it within all the horrid automatically generated html. This is not the fault of the people using them in any way. It is the fault of the software manufacturers for not providing backward compatability so that alternative software can read it. .... and before you accuse me of being a bearded sandal wearing long haired UNIX hippie from the sixties - please consider how much easier a text-based email is to read and parse for a speech synthesiser for access for deaf people. Vendors, damn vandors. Microsoft, damn microsoft. Curse them all. Red

Guest guest
That is the only way I get my mail and it works perfectly for me. I use Hotmail and I just open the digest and scroll down...not a problem at all. IMHO, it all depends on the person using the software. Your email above as you can see I have trimmed back to 4 lines. This from 57 lines of text in your email (ignoring the links spam attached by yahoo). When your email appears in the digest, it will look like this: How wastefull is that? Do you not agree that seeing multiple copies of my email in a digest is going to complicate the job of someone trying to read it? Remember, a digest is just a concatonation of all emails on the group in the day. You just lengthened todays by 57 lines for no additional purpose other than lazyness on your part. Now imagine the *completely* impossible task it must be for someone to read this list, or the digest through a speech synthesiser. Guest guest
Red, while I will forever believe in everyone having their own opinion and being allowed to express it freely, I gotta disagree with you here. Sure, this list is high volume and sure it's VERY free form in style. Sure it's not technical and sure most of the folks are not techies. Sure everyone has a different style... and all of these things are what give this particular list its particular character. To be honest, I get annoyed with something on this list on a daily basis... surely I'm not the only one. But if this list were to change in ANY way, well, guess what... I'd leave. And I tend to think many other people would too. People who are long-term devotees of this list stay because, if not in-spite-of, the character of our beloved list. This Atkins_Support_List is definitely not for everyone. There are tons of low-carb list choices on the web and MANY on yahoogroups. If this one doesn't suit a particular individual or even a particular group of individuals, it's probably not going to be long before they find another one or start their own. And there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not meaning to offend anyone at all so please no one take offense. -Marlena > > > Personally the thought of restricting the number of posts per day is > > ludicrous. >I don't think ludicrous is a good word to use. Guest guest
You know, you can go into your mail setting and choose NOT to quote the original message. That way when you reply the original is not attached to the bottom. However, you may need to cut and paste a phrase to make your reply make sense. Guest guest
email me at lmussaw@... in TN list volume I enjoy this list but it is very high volume. Is there any chance that there could be a limit put on posts per day, per person? Many of my lists have limits per person and it keeps the list manageable.Alternatively, does anyone know of a lower volume low carb list? Thank you,
