Guest guest
Hi All, I haven't been doing too well. I seemed to have gone up on the scale but that is no surprise since I have not really been watching my calories but not really overdoing anything either. Nor have I visited the gym recently. I know there are a few on here in particular Catalina and Rhonda that I know of.. that have lost lbs! Catalina, if I am correct, is it true you don't really excersize that much? Just wondering. Rhonda, thanks for sharing your pics. They are nice. I thought you were a redhead though? Also, congratulations on the weight loss! Guest guest
I try to do those little things you always hear - park further away, and so on, but otherwise, you're right, I have not yet incorporated exercise into my routine. Why? Well, because I'm an idiot. =+) Oh, don't be alarmed, I'm mostly amused by myself, and I love me. I don't know if you saw my post about having a pretend alter-ego as a Super Hero (yes, it is possible to be your own imaginary friend, haha) called Chaos Girl. Well, Chaos Girl is still learning to use her SuperPowers, which in reality-talk means I still inadvertantly create little (and sometimes not so little!) disasters in my world. This week's little piece o' chaos is: as a result of leaping excitedly at opportunity, I overextended myself to the degree that as soon as I finish this post, I will *begin* on 4 writing assignments I have due at noon today. (8 hours, 41 minutes) And that's just the beginning of my day's wacky hijinks, leaving no time at all into which I could cram real exercise. (Like I said, *idiot*!) =+) So yes, I've lost my 55.2 pounds without good and proper exercise, thus it's possible to lose weight by only modifying one's eating, but I *don*t* recommend it. These past 2.5 weeks, I've been slipping (gained .6 of a pound last weigh-in, and haven't even hit the scale yet to account for the second slippage week, and a good chunk of the reason is my frustration at looking in the mirror and seeing so very little difference in my body. Because I'm not doing it the smart way, aka regular exercise, I'm not toning and shaping my muscles, resulting in less visual loss. It's also going to be harder for me once I do start (oh, I will, and the sooner the better, but it won't be today) because I didn't combine the changes to my eating and activity early on. If you're contemplating, for example, either re-attacking your eating goals *now*, then tackling exercise after Christmas, OR waiting till after the holidays to recommit to both, then, yes, definitely, jump in now with food and follow it with exercise in a couple weeks. But I strongly encourage (you and everyone else) to incorporate exercise as soon as you're able, let me serve as the bad example, and trust me that you'll look *and* feel better with regular workouts - even if you see the scale move more slowly sometimes - than trusting your weight loss to food intake changes alone. OK, I've dawdled enough to make that noon deadline scarier, hehe. Hope I helped!! (and good to see a post from you!!) Catalina > Hi All, > > I haven't been doing too well.
