Guest guest
Dear Nells, When deciding on a new drug, I like to try ones that have been on the market for awhile because: (1)there is usually a generic form which costs much less, and (2)the drug has been around long enough for researchers to have done studies regarding long-term side- effects. Everybody's body chemistry is different, so what works for me may not be the best option for you. I have severe clinical depression and have been content for the last 7 years on 100mg/day of Luvox, or it's generic form. I had previously tried Paxil 20mg/day but found that I was " too happy " , almost a zombie, resistant to any negative emotion. And while most people might think that is great, I felt that I wasn't a normal human anymore. I mean, you have to be able to experience some sad emotions in order to truly appreciate the happier emotions. My dad, who is also depressed has been stable on a combination of Wellbutrin and Remeron. Hope this helps. My thoughts & prayers are with you and your mother. Take care.
