Rhonda,

I don't think it's silly at ll to have those bags. I have been thinking

about what we would do. I'm not prepared or organized at all! And we

have fires and earthquakes here too. In fact Nov 3rd was the

anniversary of one the biggest quakes ever in North America. It was a

7.9 and amazingly only hurt one person. Did quite a number on our roads

up north though. Mike thought I was silly after we first moved here and

I felt my first quake. I slept in full clothing, I don't usually sleep

in anything, ya really wanted to know that didn't ya? LOL and I had

shoes and coat by the bed. I did that for several weeks. I called my

parents at 2:00 AM Alaska time when we had a quake once because Mike

was out on a call and I was freaked out. Never mind the folks lived in

Minnesota and couldn't do a thing! LOL

I agree with you. It doesn't matter the size of the home. It's the

things inside. I can't believe how bad these fires were. They effected

all income brackets I'm sure! Thank God they have them out now! Oh yeah

we have had forrest fires here quite a bit. Just last summer there was

one up the road from me about 1 mile. The scary thing is, like Ca, we

have a lot of dead spruce from beetles and if a fire got going, there

would be no stopping it and we only have one road out of here and a

river next to that, mountain on the other side. I think we need to work

on our emergency plans!
