Guest guest
Nells, I have not taken Lexapro, as we tried several different kinds of antidepressants on me, and all but Prozac caused bad reactions...either I passed out for days from the lowest doses, or they made me nauseous, or other gastric problems. Prozac worked, and I have been using it for more than fifteen years to good effect. I know we are all different, so hopefully someone else in the group has used Lexapro and can help you with that one. Sending good vibes your way, and for your Mom, too. Take care and keep us posted on how you do. Loving hugs, MM
Guest guest
HI, I would like to know if any here have tried Lexapro an antidepressant? I try to read all the posts. I had to quit my job a month ago after 14 yrs. working with battered women. The office politics were a million times worse than the counseling. I had to take a job working with at risk youth and families. I also need the insurance. I barely have any energy. Requesting prayers for my Mom. Her name is Margarita and she's 3,000 miles away from me. She has alot of physical problems and she just had stents put in. I will be going to see her on march 26 for 3 weeks. I am so stressed because I just started this job and I had to ask for 3 weeks off. Please all pray that I will have the energy to do all this. I have to work. I pray for all here daily. All of you inspire, comfort and make me laugh. Any info on antidepressants will be appreciated. Sending healing vibes to all here, Nells
Guest guest
Hi Nells, I was on Lexapro for awhile. The 10mg dose was OK, I felt better, but not quite as good as the doc wanted. She increased the dose to 20mg. I didn't like the side effects with it & got her to change it. Now I take Wellbutrin XL, it has less side effects for me & I feel much better on it. -- Re: Antidepressant-Lexapro and prayer request HI, I would like to know if any here have tried Lexapro an antidepressant? Guest guest
I have been on Wellbutrin 200 twice a day for 5 years .. the the doc decided to try something new .. so I tried the Lexapro .. and didnt like the feeling it gave me. It hurt my stomach for one thing and made my heart race, plus it made me too easy going. Easy to get into trouble that way 'cause you can be led into anything. Then the doc tried me on the Wellbutrin XL .. but I found if I had diarrhea (which is quite often with all the other meds) .. that it wasnt staying in my system long enough and I was getting the compulsive issues again. So .. its back to the Wellbutrin 200 twice a day .. and I feel much much better.
Guest guest
Hi Nells, First let me offer my prayers for you and your Mother who is so sick.....I hope you can make it through this stressful time okay.Just take the best care of yourself as you can...I know it will be hard. I have been on antidepressants of one kind or another for the last 23 years. ..... I've had every sice effect there is .... from totally zonked, and drooling......to Mania....and everything in between......! The one that I am on now has worked for me better, and I have less side effect than any other.....I have been on it now for 8 years.....It has just gone "generic.". if your insurance only pays for generic drugs.....I take 60mg.a day.of REMERON.....You have to take it at night because it will make you sleepy........That's why it works for me .Most antidepressant make me skitzy.....and I can't eat or sleep. I hope you get all the input you were looking for ......But you and your doctor will have to make the decision about which one is right for you...each one of us react differently to drugs. Guest guest
Hi Nells, Your and your mother are in my thoughts and prayers. I've taken 50 mg of Amitriptyline for several years now. I take it an hour or so before I go to bed to help me sleep. About six months ago, they added Lexapro for depression. I take 10 mg nightly. They tried upping it to 20 mg but I couldn't ever seem to wake up. I switched myself back to the original 10 mg. It doesn't seem bother me. As with all of us, some days are good and some days are bad. K. > HI, > I would like to know if any here have tried Lexapro an antidepressant? I try to read all the posts. Guest guest
Nell, I have been on Lexapro for about 4 months. It seemed to work pretty quick for me. But, I also take Wellbutrin. So, I take the Lexapro at night and the Wellbutrin in the morning. It seems I'm one of those that needs both but it does seem to work for me. As said...the Lexapro made me a little to happy and the Wellbutrin not happy enough. Good luck I hope it works for you. gini On Sun, 7 Mar 2004 09:10:06 -0800, " Nelly Ramos " wrote : > > HI, > I would like to know if any here have tried Lexapro an antidepressant?
